Collierville is the largest of the launch towns by population and the one whose waste ordinance carries an explicit dollar figure.

What does Collierville § 94.29 require?

Collierville’s rule is written around the property line. Section 94.29 makes it unlawful for an owner or handler to permit a dog or cat to defecate on property other than the owner’s, “unless such owner or handler immediately removes and disposes of, in a sanitary manner, such waste.”¹

Two things follow that a resident should know. First, the duty is immediate — the code gives no grace period for coming back with a bag later. Second, the town has no own-lot waste section: the nearest provision is § 95.08(A), a general health nuisance rule, not a pet-waste rule.² A Collierville yard is not governed the way a Germantown yard is.

The penalty sits in § 94.99(A): not more than $50 or the maximum amount permitted by state law, whichever is greater, for each offense.³ That trailing clause is part of the rule and belongs with the number every time it is quoted.
